“It’s your source for everything interior,” says Bruce Benson, who had the idea of creating a mix of interior design professionals under one roof. The result is DK Benson Interiors, a new interior design center located in the nearly 3,000-square-foot former Glen Campbell Chevrolet dealership building at 5688 Main St., near N. Ellicott Street, in the Village of Williamsville.

Considered a first of its kind, the new Williamsville design center features an upscale kitchen and appliances. An array of furniture and accessories fill the showroom floor space along with a working floor-to-ceiling fireplace. The team includes Mary Ellen Carocci, who owned a floral design business for 13 years and “has an eye for color and design and brings a creative and personal touch to her clients’ homes.”

Other team members are:

Megg Cook has taught interior design in two countries and been design manager on numerous commercial and domestic projects, including the award-winning Adelaide Casino in Australia, as well as product manager for MacKenzie-Childs.

Colleen Cusick, a Villa Maria graduate whose resume includes serving as a personal assistant to actress and talk show host Rosie O’Donnell (she asks that you not hold that against her), and working for The Expo, the women-oriented arm of Home Depot, in the kitchen design.

Gary Ruff, whose knowledge and creativity is based on a long family history in the furniture and design industry. Traveling extensively between Canada, New York and California has provided Ruff with an eclectic focus.

“Our design center doesn’t look like your typical showroom,” said Cusick. “Our goal is to bring out the personality of the homeowners we work with, helping either design or redesign their home,” said Cusick.
